How do designers create compelling solutions and experiences in virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and mixed reality (MR), collectively referred to as extended reality (XR)?
Using a cross-disciplinary approach incorporating art, technology, and business, the UCLA Extension Immersive Media Program was created to investigate new frontiers and applications in XR.
Get hands-on training and explore real-world case studies around experience-building, world building, and the business of XR. Students will use Unity, 3D modeling, and basic coding while creating front-end experiences and assembling industry-focused portfolios.

Our immersive media programs serve students from a variety of backgrounds, including design, architecture, user experience, storytelling, business, computer science, and more. No previous design or software experience is required to enroll, though students already active in the field are welcome.
Our curriculum has been developed in direct consultation with senior leaders at STRIVR, Talespin, Meta, and Apple. Courses are taught by longtime industry professionals and pioneers in the field.
