About this course:
Supporting data use requires building trust, promoting inclusivity, designing for accessibility, and providing ongoing support and resources. Flexibility and adaptability to the community's or organization’s specific needs are essential to ensure the successful use of data visualizations. This proposed course will explore the strategies and techniques for driving the adoption and utilization of data visualizations. Participants will explore various approaches to communicate the value and impact of data visualizations to stakeholders at different organizational levels. They will learn to craft persuasive narratives, develop compelling presentations, and leverage storytelling techniques to engage and inspire data audiences. The course emphasizes the importance of data literacy and promotes a data-driven culture among communities and organizations. Participants will gain insights into the barriers and challenges that hinder the adoption of data visualizations and explore effective change strategies. They will learn to identify and understand key audiences, tailor visualizations to their needs, and convey the relevance and benefits of data use. Furthermore, participants will explore strategies for integrating data visualizations into existing workflows and decision-making processes. They will learn to facilitate meaningful discussions around data visualizations, encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing, and establish strategies for incorporating visualizations into regular analysis, communication, and reporting. Participants will emerge as skilled advocates for data use. They can go beyond creating data visualizations to support data use within communities and organizations effectively whether working as data analysts, consultants, managers, or change agents, participants will be equipped to drive the adoption and utilization of data visualizations, ultimately leading to more informed and impactful decisions and actions.Corporate Education
