This class is an introduction to applied statistics as practiced in public policy. It is hands-on, and by the end of the quarter students should be able to execute basic quantitative analyses of social science data with R, a popular computer language for statistical analysis. A successful student will be able to explore data, analyze it, evaluate strengths and weaknesses of it, and discuss policy implications.
