About this course:

Exploring how to facilitate efficient and effective learning through metacognition has perhaps never been more important than in today’s complex and rapidly changing world. Designed for individuals working in the Field of Early Childhood, this workshop is intended to help educators understand and leverage the science of learning through exploring their learning strengths and applying what they know to support their own achievement. Through a mix of presentations and reflective activities, the following topics will be covered: (1) preparing to learn (2) the basics of metacognition (thinking about thinking) in approaching learning tasks (3) learning to interpret written observations and identifying inferences to analyze strengths and areas of challenge, for supporting individual growth and development. This workshop will help individuals involved in early education understand how the science of learning can be harnessed to boost success in their own lives, as well as in the young children they work with.
