Edward Watts

Ph.D. in History from Yale University, Alkiviadis Vassiliadis Endowed Chair and the Chair of the History Department at UCSD. He is the author of six books and the editor of five others including Mortal Republic: How Rome Fell Into Tyranny (Basic Books, 2018). His most recent book is The Eternal Decline and Fall of Rome: The History of a Dangerous Idea (Oxford, 2021).
