Esther Hugo
Esther holds a doctorate in educational leadership from UCLA and a master’s in counseling from Loyola Marymount University. Esther is the past-chair of College Board Guidance and Admission Assembly Council and is a former College Board Trustee.
Esther serves as the inter-association chair for the Western Association for College Admission Counseling, a position she created to foster collaboration among like-minded organizations.
In addition, she is past-president of the Western Association for College Admission Counseling and has twice served on the NACAC Board of Directors. In addition, Esther serves as an adjunct professor in the graduate counseling department in the School of Education of Loyola Marymount University, and was one of the first online instructors in the UCLA Extension College Counseling Certificate Program. In 2008, she won the Distinguished Instructors Award.
Esther has recently published a chapter in the 6th edition of the NACAC book "Fundamentals of College Counseling", which won a national award. She has also written a chapter on recruitment in an AACRAO textbook and an article on dual enrollment classes for under-represented students for Jossey-Bass publications.
