Gideon Arom
In 2009 Gideon started Catalogik, a SaaS platform for making music assets easily searchable and licensable. It was acquired in 2013 by Rumblefish, the leader in automated micro-licensing for online video. At Rumblefish, he spearheaded the development and release of RADKey, a tool for communicating proof-of-license in monetized video environments such as YouTube, Vimeo, and DailyMotion, ultimately contributing to our acquisition by SESAC.
He gained deep experience with YouTube’s Content ID system and, after realizing that such a solution didn’t exist for image-rights holders, I set-off with a group of co-founders to build Imagewiki, a rights management API for automated copyright compliance and monetization. As an entrepreneur and experienced software developer, Gideon sit comfortably at the convergence of business strategy, product development, and ultimately technical implementation. I’m an advocate for sensible coding standards, utilization of patterns and frameworks to deliver clean, maintainable code but, more importantly, useful products. Most recently he is head of technology at AllTrack where he is building a 21st-century Performing Rights Organization geared specifically to independent music creators.
