Nancy McAfee
M.A. in art history, former educator and Community Outreach Director, Cleveland Museum of Art. She also taught AP Art History for 10 years to local high school students. This included weekly lectures and trips into the galleries to discuss “real art.” Other tasks included writing exhibition labels, teaching in the galleries, producing musical events, and other duties in the service of bringing the museum’s art closer to visitors.
In retirement Nancy has taught at the Rochester Osher for 6 years and, via zoom, to OLLI institutes across the country. She also did volunteer work for the Johnson Museum of Art at Cornell University and the Memorial Art Gallery in Rochester. She has served on the Boards of the Rochester Garden Club, Greentopia (an environmental non-profit) and the Women’s Giving Circle of Rochester.
Nancy lives in Rochester NY. She has 4 grandchildren in Rochester and 4 in San Francisco. She has traveled the world extensively, including living 3 years in Japan, and a visit to the Sistine Ceiling during the renovation process in 1986.
