Thomas Cannava

Thomas Cannava is the Deputy Director of Human Resources for the NYS Unified Court System.  In this role, he is responsible for managing the seven offices that comprise the Division of Human Resources.   He manages approximately 80 employees providing human resource services to a workforce of 16,000 employees in the areas of civil service administration (examination development and administration and civil service list establisments and appointments), labor relations (negotiate with 11 unions), payroll and benefits administration, time and leave management, career development and training, workers' compensation and equal employment opportunity programs and compliance. 

Mr. Cannava’s teaching experience crosses all levels of traditionall education from high school through graduate school programs, and he also has 25 years experience in the corporate training arena.  Mr. Cannava holds a BA in Education from the University of South Florida and an MA in Education from New York University.
