Fred Kuhns

Fred Kuhns has over 30 years of experience in accounting, finance and management consulting. He has been teaching at UCLA Extension since 2012. Fred began his business career in the aerospace industry where he performed budgeting and performance reporting tasks. After receiving his MBA from the Anderson School at UCLA, he worked at Peterson Consulting (now part of Navigant), Coopers & Lybrand and PricewaterhouseCoopers where he was a Director in the Financial Advisory Services practice. He was also VP Finance for a start-up company that provided innovative parking solutions for developers.

 

Fred has testified as an expert witness in deposition, state court and arbitration forums. His current practice is focused on valuation and litigation support, including valuation of closely held companies as well as patents, trademarks and other intellectual property assets. He is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA), an Accredited Senior Appraiser in Business Valuation (ASA-BV) and is a member of the Institute of Management Accountants and the American Society of Appraisers.

 

Fred is a former British and Italian car owner, but currently drives an electric vehicle.  He is an enthusiastic supporter of green technology for residential applications, including solar and battery storage.  He is also an experienced cross-country skier and hiker.
