This course includes an overview of damage tolerance and durability of composites. Instruction covers strength and failure criteria of composite materials, damage modes and defects in composite materials, stiffness and strength evolution during damage accumulation evolution, fracture of composite materials, fatigue and durability of composite materials, impact and environmental durability, and design guidelines. Additional topics include NDI inspection and repair, type of inspection of equipment, inspection techniques and results interpretation, disposition, and repair techniques.
