- Understand professional and legal obligations to protect the privacy, health, and safety of students, families, and other school professionals
- Study school and district policies and state and federal law, and act in accordance with professional standards
- Discuss teaching performance expectations for new teachers
- Explore instructional strategies, learning styles, ways to differentiate instruction, and how to develop positive student-centered learning environments
About this course:
This course provides educators with the theoretical background and the skills essential for beginning Career Technical Education (CTE) teaching success. These competencies will include an introduction and overview of teaching methods, learning styles, lesson planning, adult education and CTE concepts, equity and diversity in the classroom, mandated reporting, and legal and ethical issues for adult education and CTE instructors.
