About this course:

This course introduces the trainee to the UCLA Special Patient Care Clinic patients. The trainee will directly observe dentists, specialists and dental residents treat patients with special needs. Trainees will learn about the different accommodations needed to treat this patient population. Because these are advanced and at times very complex situations, the trainee will better understand the applications of techniques in this introductory course on the clinical dental management of patients with special needs, medically complex patients and head and neck cancer patients. Trainees will also be exposed to dental treatment of patients under moderate sedation and general anesthesia in the dental and operating room settings.
