About this course:

Feature-length films are a popular and enduring form of storytelling. Writers who aspire to craft stories for the silver screen benefit from learning the basics of screen storytelling, which includes mastering the concepts of story structure. While every film is a unique story world with its own characters, all features share a common DNA you can use to shape the story you want to tell. In this self-paced course, you read a powerful script and watch pre-recorded videos featuring outstanding Writers’ Program instructors discussing the elements of story structure. Weekly quizzes help you gauge your understanding of essential concepts, and an optional writing prompt will inspire you to begin developing your own feature film concept.
