Orofacial Pain & Dysfunction Clinic I

About this course:
Students will participate in required seminars and observe in clinic. The International Trainee and Preceptor programs start July 1st of the calendar year. The students have a 4-week orientation program within the OFP program. This orientation includes familiarization with clinic policies, the charting system, Patient Rounds protocols, as well as didactic introductory courses introducing the various pain conditions and sleep conditions seen in the OFP Clinic. Beginning in the 2nd week of July, the students are required to attend the DS300 Orofacial Pain Seminar that is held weekly on Thursdays at 5:30. The Summer lectures review Temporomandibular Disorders and the Fall lectures review the other orofacial pain topics. Additionally, the students are required to attend the 5-month Sleep Mini-Residency course that starts in August. Daily attendance is required per the schedule that is distributed at the beginning of the Summer Quarter with Clinic on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The students are required to observe in the Faculty Orofacial Pain Practice on Thursdays. This course is open to trainees of UCLA School of Dentistry’s Post DDS Certificate programs only.
